Message from the President

Since its foundation as Kotani Shipping Department back in 1932, the company has focused on ship rental and leasing business (so-called ship-owner business) and real estate lessors & managers. It became Osaka Shipping Co., Ltd. after the merger with Namura Shipping Co., Ltd. owing to the consolidation of the shipping industry led by the government during the 1960’s. Having survived two waves of industrial reorganization and consolidation, we were able to continue to add to our achievements.
We believe this was the result of our strenuous efforts to maintain high quality of the ships and real estate properties under the Company’s ownership and to provide the customers with safety and comfort, under the founder’s philosophy: “to contribute to society through business management”. We strongly hope that our every single effort will continue to contribute to the advancement of society and economy of Japan and of the world.
We are committed to strive for excellence based on a hard look at what things will be like in 5 or 10 years from now, without the smallest strain, under the slogan of realistic and steady management, with the philosophy to “make contribution to society”.
